Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District

  • YSWCD is a special district formed in 1953 to promote the wise use of natural resources in Yamhill County. YSWCD’s is a local leader of a diverse set of watershed programs that for restoration, long-term protections, habitat monitoring, and outreach and education. In addition, they provide technical assistance for just about any natural resource issue, from working farms and pastures, to upland woodlands and timber, and urban greenways and streams.
  • Protected Lands - In 2002, the YSWCD became one of the first SWCDs in Oregon to permanently protect working farms, forest lands, and critical habitat through long-term conservation easements and property acquisitions.  YSWCD now holds a range of easements and properties, including Crown Hill Farms, Miller Woods, Chegwyn Farms, the Mount Richmond Property, and others.
  • 2014 Yamhill/Polk Agricultural Pesticide Waste Collection Event - We partnered with the YSWCD in the coordination of a pesticide collection event for Yamhill and Polk Counties, which included assistance with planning, publicity/outreach, and day-of setup, registration, and food/coffee for our participant growers. Thank you YSWCD for making this event a super success!
  • YSWCD collaborates with us in more ways than we can count. We are currently leading the Yamhill Pesticide Stewardship Partnership together. We are collaborating on riparian restoration projects that combine CREP and OWEB funding. We partner on numerous outreach/education events. And the YSWCD has offered strong support for our fish inventory grant proposal. Thank you YSWCD for the diversity of strategic projects and programs we work on together!
