Water Quality

The GYWC coordinates a number of Water Quality programs including the monitoring and outreach projects highlighted below which leverage the support of a diverse network of local volunteers, landowners, partner organizations, and funders to better understand local water quality conditions and increase community awareness.

MONITORING PROGRAMS
Pesticide Stewardship Partnership
Water Quality Sampling

Join us and Yamhill SWCD for Pesticide Stewardship Partnership (PSP) water quality sampling activities as we visit waterways in urban and agricultural areas to collect samples which will be analyzed for 100+ pesticides. We also collect stream flow/volume data during sampling to better understand the relationship between the amount of water in the creek during sampling and the concentrations of pesticides detected in the lab.

Summer Stream Temperature

Join us as we deploy and maintain stream temperature data loggers across a variety of urban, agriculture, and forestry waterways to better understand the quality of our local waterways for our cold-water dependent aquatic species, including coastal cutthroat, Coho salmon, winter-run Steelhead trout, and Pacific lamprey.
